PAY KINDNESS

Kindness, when it is true
enchants and cures
disarms, displaces.
She has the power of the good word
the strength, the right intention.
And when she is appropriate and opportune
if she is pure and timely
she is never stupid.
But she wins fair, and aligns what is unequal.
And the embarrassment, if it arises
she soon cancels.
